Cryptocurrency is becoming a mainstream, fundamental part of many investment strategies. Retail and institutional investors alike are looking for opportunities in digital assets – some are jumping in to trade on momentum, while others are long-term believers. Regardless of their time horizons, crypto investors are faced with the same issues: constant volatility, looming regulation, and broader adoption.

In this CNBC Investor Roundtable, a group of experts will weigh in on their best ideas in crypto and how to tune out the noise to make the best investment decisions in cryptocurrencies today and in the decades ahead.

Jay Clayton

Jay Clayton, Chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission from May 2017 to December 2020, is a Senior Policy Advisor and Of Counsel to Sullivan & Cromwell. Mr. Clayton’s practice centers on corporate governance and financial regulatory matters, economic policy and government relations, and investigations.

Kate Rooney

Kate Rooney is a technology reporter based out of CNBC’s San Francisco bureau, with a focus on financial technology, payments and venture capital. She also writes and reports for CNBC’s digital platforms.

Rooney joined CNBC in 2015 as a news associate before working as a producer for CNBC’s “Squawk Box” (M-F, 6AM-9AM ET) and was most recently a markets reporter for CNBC.com.

She graduated from Boston College with a bachelor’s degree in communication and earned her master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University where she received an Eric Lund Global Reporting and Research Grant to film and produce a documentary in the Philippines. She also worked as a multimedia reporter in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 2015 with a focus on housing and politics.
