Financial Advisor Summit

Navigating Uncertainty

The economy is at a critical juncture in its pandemic recovery. Inflation that’s running at its highest level in 40 years, coupled with the promise of aggressive, ongoing interest rate hikes, has created some real craters in the overall market. Meanwhile, escalating geopolitical tensions hint that the next Cold War will be primarily fought on the economic front. How can advisors help their clients navigate these headwinds? Is a recession on the horizon? Where can investors find some sense of clarity?

CNBC’s Financial Advisor Summit virtually convenes forward-thinking advisors to hear from industry heavyweights with insight into all of this and more. This event is eligible for 4.5 CFP CE credits.

Geopolitics are as much to blame for high inflation as high consumer demand, with China’sFF persistent Covid lockdowns impacting global supply chains and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine keeping upward pressure on oil and gas prices. BREAKOUT SESSIONS

Student Loan Forgiveness and the Future of Paying for College

In August, the Biden administration will decide (again) whether to continue a 2-plus year pause on student loan repayment, or whether to finally cancel the debt altogether. Beyond what it will do for current borrowers, cancelling student loans and any subsequent systemic reforms could have a profound impact on the cost of college and the way we pay. And all that change means that advisors need to be ready to work with clients to adjust to the new reality. Some will have extra cash to play with that was slated for college expenses and now need to decide where to invest that money. Others will have to rethink the benefits of 529 college savings plans. And for those closer to paying for college, months of stock market volatility may deliver smaller-than-expected 529 college savings plan balances. What can advisors do to help? What are the other ways to pay?
